Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda signed on Thursday with the Head of the EBRD Office in BiH Manuela Naessl a loan agreement for the Public Transport Project Sarajevo – Part 3, worth 10 million euros.

Bevanda thanked Naessl and said he was pleased to be assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in all important projects.

“This project will complete the procurement of new trams, which will help develop the public transport infrastructure in Sarajevo and the efficiency of services. The final beneficiary of the loan is the Sarajevo Canton, and the project will be implemented by the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Transport,” Bevanda emphasized.

It was emphasized that this project also covers the priority challenges of environmental protection, through the promotion of the use of public transport.

“The amount of the loan is 10 million euros, the repayment period is 15 years, including a three-year grace period for repayment,” Bevanda pointed out.

This project is the third in a series of projects related to the improvement of public transport in Sarajevo.
