The United States Government will donate 500,000 doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccines to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The vaccines are expected to arrive in BiH in late July, the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs said.

Also, the Slovenian government will donate 48,000 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The donation of vaccines to BiH, which is in a difficult epidemiological situation with only 8% of those vaccinated, is a humanitarian and noble move by which Slovenia acts in accordance with the European principle of solidarity and cooperation,” said Slovenian Health Minister Janez Poklukar.

Assessing the currently favorable epidemiological situation in the country, he pointed out that the Slovenian health care system functioned well during the third wave of the epidemic.

As he said, he is sure that Slovenia would withstand a possible fourth wave if it happened.

He added that the most important thing is to get vaccinated as extensively as possible in order to ensure health security in the fall.

In Slovenia, 29 percent of the population and 46 percent of adults were vaccinated with both doses.
