Today, the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized the 24th Federal First Aid Competition at Wilson’s Promenade in Sarajevo.
The competition brought together primary and secondary school students from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Red Cross youth teams, who demonstrated their first aid knowledge and skills at various staged accidents with a realistic presentation of injuries, conditions and illnesses.
Sixteen teams competed on 16 training grounds, seven teams in the youth category, nine teams in the youth category and the Red Cross of Vojvodina team that competed in a show. More than 300 volunteers from the structure of the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the competition.
In the youth category, the Third Gymnasium Sarajevo took first place, the Tutti Fratelli Youth Team from Orašje came second, and the Kiseljak Youth Team took third place.
In the youth category, first place was taken by Elementary School Mehmed beg Kapetanović Ljubušak – Sarajevo, second place – Elementary School Kiseljak 1 and third place – Fra Ilija Starčrvića Tolisa – Orašje.
“We would like to congratulate all participants on the presented knowledge and skills in providing first aid. All this is a product of Red Cross education carried out by local organizations, but also by hardworking students and volunteers,” said the Secretary General of the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Namik Hodžić.
The young people and youth of the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the most numerous members of the Red Cross, who spread humane values and participate in the realization of numerous humanitarian, health, educational and social activities, the Red Cross of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
