The 24th Sarajevo Film Festival opened with solemn Ceremony

The 24th SFF started with the official ceremony in the National Theatre in Sarajevo, and it will bring 266 films from 56 countries from all over the world.

The film “Cold War” by Pawel Pawlikowski opened yhis year’s edition of the largest regional film festival in this part of Europe, and it was simultaneously screened in the Raiffaisen Summer Cinema, which is located in popular Metalac. as part of the Open Air program.

Gala reception preceded the first projection of the 24th SFF and it gathered numerous famous people from BiH, region and the world. Some of them were Ivan Bosiljcic, Rijad Gvozden, Danis Tanovic, Sabina Cudic, Elmedin and Dalija Konakovic, Mirsad Hadzikadic, Borisa Falatar, Aida Begic, Damir Masic, Severina and Igor Kojic etc.

The official ceremony that was hosted by BH actor Alban Ukaj and the awarding ceremony of the Heart of Sarajevo started after a traditional red carpet. This year’s award went to Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan and the founder of Hastor Foundation and ASA Prevent Nijaz Hastor. They received the award as a recognition for their continued support to the development of the Sarajevo Film Festival and great contribution to the affirmation and development of film in the area of South East Europe.

A total of 266 films will be screened during the eight days of the festival, and numerous film authors, actors, directors, producers and other personalities from the world of film industry, culture and public life of BiH, the region and the world will attend this great event.
