The 75th Anniversary of the “Battle for the Wounded on Neretva River” marked

The solemn marking of the 75th anniversary of the Battle for the Wounded on Neretva River will take place on May 5, in Jablanica.

Marking ceremony traditionally starts by throwing 75 carnations in Neretva River, and laying flowers and paying tributes to victims will be held at 12 PM, after which it will be followed by a solemn academy and addressing of officials with a rich cultural and entertainment program.

Addressing of the host, representatives of antifascists from BiH and neighbouring republics of the former Yugoslavia are foreseen with the protocol.

“This is an opportunity to remember historic moments and dedicate ourselves to those who gave their lives in the most humane battle for freedom, the ‘Battle for Wounded on Neretva River’,” as stated by  the Association of Antifascists and soldiers of NOR Jablanica.

The organizers of the marking ceremony are Sabnor BiH, the Association of Antifascists and Soldiers of NOR Jablanica, the Association “Josip Broz Tito” Jablanica, and the Museum “Battle for Wounded on Neretva River” Jablanica.

Sponsors of the event are the Municipality of Jablanica and the Ministry for Issues Of The Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War of the FBiH.
