giroThe traditional cycling event, Giro di Sarajevo, which is organized this year for the 8th time by the association of the same name, will be held on Sunday, the 6th of September. More than 2,000 cyclists from all over the B&H is expected on the recreational ride, which is held under the Special auspices of the Mayor of Sarajevo and continues to operate under the same slogan “We want tracks – our tracks2”.

“Even though process of making bike tracks in our city has already started, and one part is even completed, we do not want to give up on our slogan, without which there would be no completed paths at all. We want that Sarajevo gets professional network of bicycle paths that serve for daily traffic for all of those who are using the bicycle as the way of transportation or recreation,” said Branka Turkić, a spokesperson for the association Giro di Sarajevo.

This year’s Giro di Sarajevo is held under the general sponsorship of Coca-Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo as always, and realized within activities of Coca-Cola’s “Happiness for Movement”.

“We are proud that we are promoting active lifestyle and cycling for the fourth year in a row, as well as the importance of regular movement and activities for our health, with the association Giro di Sarajevo and other partners. We are especially glad that the number of participants of Giro di Sarajevo is increasing from year to year, which is a proof that we are doing this successfully,” said Alma Šahbaz, the Communications and Community Relations Manager of Coca-Cola HBC B-H.

This year the Giro, a true cycling holiday of Sarajevo, will go along the same route as in previous years. The start is scheduled for 5 p.m. in front of the Skender Kulenović school in Dobrinja, after which the column will connect to the main city road in Nedžarići and departure towards the City Hall, and back to the Marijin Dvor and Vilsonovo Promenade, where is the finish. Organizers emphasize that due to the necessary registration which will be done only on site, it is necessary to come on the start between 3:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., when registration will be closed.

“Everyone who sign up at the start will get a bottle of Olimpija water, a special badge of Giro di Sarajevo, and the flag of our Silver sponsor Novo Nordisk, which has starting number printed on it. The flag can be easily mounted on the bikes, and it will serve to participants as a coupon for participating in the draw of gifts from our sponsors and partners. Of course, everyone is interested in the main prize by our main sponsor, Coca-Cola, and these are 3 very good quality bikes and 5 top cycling helmets,” explained Turkić.

Besides the main prizes, all of the participants will be offered with large grill for which the meat industry Menprom will be in charge, and all who complete the ride will get a bottle of Coca-Cola as well. The luckiest ones will have the opportunity to win, except for the main prize, the gift packages of a lifestyle club “Ciklo Centar,” which is representative of cycling brands Specialized, GT and Giant.
