Law on Residence of B&H oslobodjenje.ba

Amendments to the Law on Permanent and Temporary Residence for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were brought into force today.

The Republic of Srpska (MIA RS) Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the law stipulates that, in the procedure of registering a permanent residence and address,  citizens are required to submit proof that they have a valid basis for residence at the address where they are applying.

The law stipulates that citizens are obliged to provide accurate and truthful information in the process of registering residence.

As a valid basis for residence at the address for which they are applying, evidence of ownership or co-ownership of an apartment or possession of an apartment, house or other residential building, a verified lease agreement or a certified contract of tenancy along with a certified evidence of ownership or co-ownership or the possession of the landlord, are considered suitable.

Evidence may also include a certificate that any dispute about property is in progress before a competent authority, and that the legalization or registration of a building, an apartment or a house at the address where the residence is being registered has been launched.
