The American city of Kyle failed to break the Guinness record set in Kupres and gather the largest number of people with the same name in the same place.
Namely, about 1,800 people with the name Kyle gathered in this Texas city, which was nowhere near enough to come close to Kupres, who holds the record since 2017, when 2,325 Ivans gathered in this city.
This is the fourth time that the city of Kyle is trying to break the Guinness record.
“We hope that even more Kyles will join us next year, when we will try again to break the record at the Kyle 2024 fair,” said the organizers.
“Of course, I’m glad that the Guinness record remains in Kupres, but as I’ve already pointed out, if they broke it, it would only be an additional motivation for us to gather even more Ivans, which wouldn’t be a problem,” said Matko Ćurković, the president of the association Kupreški kosci, which organized the gathering of Ivan.
We remind you that at the beginning the goal was to bring 1,000 Ivans to one place, but many more applied and appeared on Kupres five years ago. It was a special day for all residents and their guests that is still talked about today. This event will remain inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records, but also in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Klix.ba reports.
