Mersiha Novalić, spokeswoman for the KS MUP, told N1 that the juvenile, who was arrested last night, is suspected of having falsely reported the existence of an explosive device more than 40 times, mostly in high schools in the Sarajevo Canton, but also outside the Sarajevo Canton.

In this action, the police officers of the Ministry of Interior of KS, cyber security experts of the FUP participated in this action, in cooperation with the officers of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH and other partner agencies in the exchange of data, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.

“With the order of the Sarajevo Municipal Court, a search was made of the family home and the accompanying facilities used by the minor. On that occasion, objects and means were found, for which there is a reason to suspect that they were used in the execution of these criminal acts. It is a criminal act of endangering security in connection with the criminal act of false reporting,” Novalić said.

The juvenile who was deprived of his liberty is still undergoing criminal processing in the official premises of the KS MUP Police Directorate, after which he will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.

Despite this, threatening messages arrived again this morning to the address of several Sarajevo secondary schools. The same team is working on this case.

“As we are repeatedly told that the perpetrators of these crimes are minors, it should be emphasized that the fact that someone is a minor does not mean that he is not criminally responsible. On the contrary, it is possible to be criminally liable, they will be criminally liable and they will be dealt with in accordance with the Law on the Protection and Treatment of Minors in Criminal Proceedings”, added the spokeswoman of the KS MUP, Mersiha Novalić.
