The Banking Sector in Republika Srpska made a Profit of 67.9 Million BAM

In the first quarter of this year, the banking sector in the Republika Srpska achieved a net profit of 67.9 million BAM, which is 15.08 percent higher than in the same period last year.

The total revenues of commercial banks in the first quarter amounted to 197.3 million BAM and are higher by 16.9 million BAM or 9.37 percent compared to the first three months of last year, according to the preliminary report of the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska.

In the first quarter, interest income and similar income amounted to 128.7 million BAM and increased by 211.4 million BAM or 9.72 percent compared to the same period last year, while operating income in that period amounted to 68.5 million BAM and increased by 5.5 million BAM or 8.73 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.

Total expenditures in the first quarter amounted to 124 million BAM and are seven percent higher than in the same period last year, in the absolute amount of 8.1 million BAM.

Total loans in the first quarter amounted to about 7.5 billion BAM, which is 179.2 million BAM or 2.45 percent more than in 2025.

Loans given to the population in the first three months amounted to about 3.84 billion BAM and are higher by 103.5 million BAM or 2.77 percent compared to last year, and loans to private companies amount to about 2.53 billion BAM and are higher by 40.6 million BAM or 1.63 percent than last year.

Deposits in the first quarter amounted to about 9.51 billion BAM and are higher by 169.1 million BAM or 1.81 percent compared to the previous year.

Citizens’ deposits in the first quarter amounted to about 5.97 billion BAM, private companies and societies about 1.64 billion BAM, government and government institutions about 864.3 million BAM, and public and state enterprises about 359 million BAM.

Savings of the population amounted to slightly more than three billion BAM, of which about 2.4 billion BAM refers to term savings, and about 650.6 million BAM to demand savings.

The number of employees in the banking sector in the Republika Srpska in the first three months was 3,159.
