Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), visited the pavilion of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) at the EXPO 2020 world exhibition last weekend.

At the pavilion of our country, Al Nahyan was hosted by the Minister of Economy of Canton Sarajevo (CS), Adnan Delic, who said that this is a great honor for BiH, given that of the 192 countries, Al Nahyan, along with a small number of others, chose to visit our country as well.

”We are very honored and very pleased that the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and one of the most important members of the Government decided to visit our country at the EXPO. Given that the whole world is here and he could choose which pavilion to visit, the fact that he chose our country is a lot more for us than we could have expected,” said Delic, and pointed out that in a pleasant conversation with the Minister he exchanged ideas and suggestions for improving the political and economic relations between our countries.

Delic also said that members of the BiH delegation, which is currently in Dubai, used the opportunity to draw Minister Al Nahyan’s attention to the fact that the UAE, as one of the countries with which BiH has good friendly relations, still does not have an embassy in BiH, and that it is extremely important, both for the improvement of existing relations, the establishment of bilateral cooperation, and the attraction of direct investments from the UAE to BiH, that the Embassy of the Emirates be opened in BiH as soon as possible. Al Nahyan, Delic says, has promised that the UAE Foreign Ministry will step up efforts in that field.

Al Nahyan did not hide his enthusiasm for BiH, while he was especially impressed by the natural beauty of BiH and the cultural and historical heritage of BiH, and he pointed out that he would like to have a property in BiH.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed is a member of the UAE National Security Council, Deputy Chairman of the UAE HighCommittee on Borders, Chairman of the National Media Council, Chairman of the Board of Emirates Youth Development Foundation, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and Board Member National Defense College. He was also Minister of Information and Culture from 1997 to 2006, and Chairman of Emirates Media Incorporated, President of the UAE Football Association, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and Culture from 1995 to 1997. He is the son of UAE founder Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is one of the most important people in this country.
