12782241_1111215528929402_402567398_nBoard members of the City Council of Sarajevo for the presentation of the 6 April Award voted on the names of winners of the 6 April Award. After the first round of voting, the second meeting will follow, and the final decision on the winners will be reached by the Council of the City of Sarajevo on March 9, the Board confirmed.

It was proposed that the 6 April Award goes to Mirsad Fazlagić (sports), Miomir Kovačević Strašni (culture) and Hadžan Konjo (health and social protection), while the Association “Obrazovanje gradi BiH” led by Jovan Divjak was proposed for the winner of the collective award.

Committee for the appointment of the City Council also defined the proposal for this year’s winner of the Key of the City of Sarajevo naming the High Representative Valentin Inzko. The proposed for the “Sarajevo Snowflake” are Irma Juhić (participant at the Special Olympics) and teachers Sanela Ljumanović and Anisa Šetkić Sendić, who taught sign language to the entire class because of their deaf-mute classmate.

“The first round of voting is completed, so on Monday we will have the final meeting and names that are definitely going into the procedure. That is not the end, however, the final decision is to be reached by the Council. So far, the Council of the City of Sarajevo only confirmed the decisions made by the Board, but everything can change now. The voting will be held in secrecy and final decisions will be known on March 9,” Professor Velija Katica, member of the Board, confirmed.

The Board is to hold one more session on February 29, in order to prepare the decisions on winners that the councilors will vote for at the session scheduled for March 9.
