After the introduction of the software module for electronic voting and the first information system of the electronic parliament in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Professional Service of the Assembly of the Brčko District has now independently implemented an online application for the register of donations to citizens’ associations, sports teams and religious communities from the area of the District, and the register is available on the website of the Assembly.

The President of the Assembly of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Siniša Milić, said that the advantages of this register are multiple and that the application enables transparency regarding the spending of public funds, the Assembly of Brčko announced.

“Citizens have access to information about how the funds are used and can check whether the money has been spent correctly. The register promotes accountability of organizations that receive funds. When financial transactions are publicly available, associations are more inclined to use money responsibly and adhere to financial rules. And finally, the register enables citizens to make decisions based on that information on supporting certain organizations or donating money,” said President Milić.

He stated that the register was programmed by the information technology administrator in the Assembly’s Professional Service, Stefan Marjanović, a graduate in electrical engineering.

Marjanović pointed out that the registry of the online application monitors the cash flow of the Assembly’s donations to citizens’ associations, sports teams and religious communities, as well as the justification of the expenditure of those funds from the users for three years.

“So far, 312 reports on the spending of donated budget funds for 2022 and 2021 have been entered in the register, which were submitted by 95 citizen associations, sports teams and religious communities. Data is entered further, continuously, as the reports arrive. We will also enter the data for 2019,” said Marjanović.

Finally, he said that the Professional Service of the Assembly is working on new online applications that will facilitate and modernize all business processes that take place within the Assembly.
