eu1The EU project “EU support to law enforcement” will present a set of legal standards related to the confiscation of illegally acquired property in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the conference “Illegally acquired property as an instrument in the fight against crime“. The Conference will be held today in Sarajevo.

The adoption of these standards would lead to a harmonization of regulations in this area at all levels in B&H and would further prevent the inconsistent application procedures in conducting financial investigations and confiscation of illegally acquired properties.

The project  “EU support to law enforcement” is financed by the EU in the amount of seven million euros through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA 2010).

The project started on 2nd May 2012 and will continue until 30th April 2014. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Slovenia, Hungary, the province of Brandenburg Federal Republic of Germany, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and Transparency International B&H are partners of the project.
