The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, at the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, appointed members of the Coordination Desk for the European Union Action Program in the field of health – the EU4Health Program.
“By establishing the Coordination Desk, we are creating prerequisites for the health sector in our country to become an equal partner in European programs, which in the long term will mean strengthening our capacities, modernization of services and better preparedness for challenges in the field of public health,” said the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Desk will play a key role in promoting the EU4Health Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing advisory assistance to potential applicants within this Program, and strengthening cooperation and information exchange between relevant institutions and partners at the national and European level.
The EU4Health program is the main financial instrument of the European Union in the field of healthcare with a total budget of 4.4 billion euros for the period from 2021 to 2027.
The goal of the Program is to strengthen the capacity of health systems, improve prevention and preparedness for crises, and improve access to health services.
Bosnia and Herzegovina participates in this Program based on the Association Agreement signed on July 23, 2024 in Brussels.
Within its scope of work, the Coordination Desk for the EU4Health Program will organize information days, workshops, seminars and conferences dedicated to EU4Health program priorities, examples of good practice, financing methods, rules for applicants and partnership opportunities within the European Union.
The establishment of the Coordination Desk is crucial for the professional training of applicants, which increases the success rate of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s participation in the Program, announced the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
