“No Child without a Present” – Five Thousand Packages for Children in BiH

This year, for the fifteenth time in a row, the Ruku na srce Association is implementing the largest humanitarian project “No Child Without a Gift”, with the aim of making children from the most vulnerable categories of society happy.

The first gifts have already been distributed to children in Sarajevo, and in the coming days, volunteers will visit numerous cities and towns throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina to bring holiday joy to others.

Today, Sarajevo children enjoyed a performance with the penguin Lumi at the Bosnian Cultural Center, after which they received New Year’s gifts. Parents emphasize that such moments mean a lot to children, because it is a special joy when a gift comes from someone else, and not from their own home. The children were impatiently waiting for this day, and the smiles on their faces were the best confirmation of the importance of this action.

This year, the Ruku na srce Association will distribute a total of five thousand gifts throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Sarajevo, they were received by the association’s beneficiaries, while in the coming days the gifts will also be distributed through associations and regional schools that work with children with developmental disabilities, the Roma population, people with disabilities and those suffering from multiple sclerosis. The Association emphasizes that the increase in the number of packages compared to last year, when there were four thousand, is a clear indicator of how many people want to help and get involved in humanitarian work.

During November and December, more than a hundred volunteers participated in the preparation and packaging of gifts every weekend. It is thanks to their efforts and selflessness that the action is successfully implemented year after year. The Association says that without volunteers and donors, such a project would not be possible.

Over the past fourteen years, more than twenty thousand packages have been distributed to children throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina through this humanitarian initiative. The Association members say that sometimes a little attention is enough to make someone’s world more beautiful, and that they see the meaning of their many years of work and joint efforts in this.
