The Sarajevo Cantonal Court has imposed prohibitive measures against Ibro Berilo, suspected of illegal activities, including a ban on him from performing his duties as mayor of the Trnovo Municipality, local media reports.

The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office requested detention for the suspect, but the court decided to impose strict prohibitive measures. These measures include a ban on meeting with witnesses and other suspects in this case.

Spokesperson for the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office Azra Bavčić confirmed that the Cantonal Court has imposed prohibitive measures instead of detention on the suspects in the “Incitat” case.

“Prohibitive measures have been imposed against the suspect Ibro Berilo, including a ban on performing his official duties as mayor of the Trnovo Municipality. His assistant Nađa Milišić has also been banned from performing her duties as assistant mayor for geodetic, property and legal affairs and real estate cadastre in the Trnovo Municipality,” Bavčić said.

Additional prohibitive measures include a ban on meeting with certain individuals, mutual contact between the suspects, as well as a ban on communication with Đigo Edin and Nermin Demirović, who are also connected to this case.

“In addition to the aforementioned bans, the suspects were also banned from reporting to the Trnovo Police Department,” Bavčić explained.

Berilo was arrested as part of the “Incitat” operation for fraud on Bjelašnica Mountain and the illegal sale of state-owned land.

Although Berilo took over the new mandate of mayor, the Cantonal Court ruled that he was prohibited from performing that function, as well as from entering the municipal premises.
