The Croatian Government allocates Millions for Projects of Importance to Croats in BiH

The Government of the Republic of Croatia adopted a decision on financing 229 educational, scientific, cultural, health, agricultural and other projects of interest to Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina at its session on Thursday.

As stated on the official website of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the session also adopted a decision on continuing support for nine projects of strategic importance for Croats outside Croatia in the amount of 16.1 million euros.

It is emphasized that 1,899 applications were received for the public tender for financing programs and projects of interest to the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina this year, and the competent financing committee selected 229 of them.

2.4 million euros were provided for 30 projects in the field of education and science. 48 projects were selected from the field of culture and will be financed with 2.3 million euros.

There are 14 projects in the health sector, for which 1.6 million euros will be allocated, 97 projects in agriculture will be allocated 997,500 euros, while 2.7 million euros have been secured for 40 projects in other areas.

Funds totaling 10 million euros have been secured in the budget of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad for this year and in the projections for 2027 and 2028.

It was emphasized that the Croatian government continues to support projects of strategic importance for Croats outside Croatia and that nine of them are active in this program, of which six are for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and three for the Croatian national minority in Romania, Austria and Montenegro, with a total value of 6.1 million euros.

Of the total amount, 3.5 million euros are intended for the completion of the construction of the Croatian National Theater in Mostar. Half a million euros have been provided for the construction of an elementary school with a preschool and a sports hall in Fojnica and the expansion and equipping of the Croatian Hospital “Dr. Fra Mato Nikolić” in Travnik.

400,000 euros have been provided for the renovation of the Petar Barbarić Catholic School Center in Travnik and for the renovation of the Fra Dominik Mandić Gymnasium in Široki Brijeg.

450,000 euros will also be allocated to support projects of the Banja Luka Diocese.
