With the decision made by the Canton Sarajevo (CS)Government at yesterday’s session, the Subsidy Program for the development of tourism and air traffic in the area of CS was adopted.

The CS Ministry of Economy received a request from the CS Tourist Board to provide them with funds in the amount of 1,000,000 BAM to subsidize new airlines that will connect Sarajevo with European cities and thereby directly affect the increase in the number of tourists and overnight stays. On the basis of that request, the proposal of the subsidy program for the development of tourism and air traffic in the area of CS was adopted.

The total funds allocated from the Budget of the Ministry of Economy of the CS for the implementation of this Program amount to 1,000,000 BAM, of which 500,000 BAM is planned for the implementation of the Public Call intended for airlines, which will be implemented by the Tourist Board of the CS, and the remaining 500,000 BAM is intended for the financing of projects for which the Government of the CS determines that they are of importance to the Canton, and which contribute to the development of tourism in the CS.

By adopting the aforementioned decision, the Government has opened up possibilities for the development of tourism in this area. We believe that the interest in this program will be great and that the tourists who come to visit us will be delighted with the tourist offer of CS, and that they will return again and again.
