13275236_1772594259643917_300875666_oOn this day, the 21st of May 1992, Olympic hall Zetra, the sports facility that was built in 1983 for the needs of the Olympic Games in Sarajevo, was set on fire and destroyed.

With shells fired from the aggressor’s position on Kromolj around 12 pm, Zetra was set on fire, and fierce shelling of this site made fire extinguishing even more difficult to firefighters and members of the Territorial Defense.

Recordings of Zetra in flame went all around the world.

During the war, basement of Zetra was used as a shelter, and warehouses of many humanitarian organizations were located there.

Later, in this devastated object was recorded video for the song Help Bosnia, now.

After the aggression, Zetra was renovated in 1999 with the help of the International Olympic Committee.

Today this object is named after Juan Antonio Samaranch, the President of the Olympic Committee, who officially opened the Olympic Games in Sarajevo back in 1984.

Zetra is an integral part of the Olympic Centre in Sarajevo settlement Kosevo and it is the largest facility of this kind in BiH.
