The death toll from a powerful storm that hit Argentina over the weekend has risen to a total of 16 people in Argentina and neighboring Uruguay.
Uruguay’s meteorological agency said two people were killed when strong gusts of wind swept through the southeast early Sunday morning, Reuters reports.
In Argentina, a woman died early Sunday after being hit by a tree branch in the town of Moreno, local media reported.
Thirteen others died on Saturday in the town of Bahia Blanca after a wall collapsed during the storm.
Argentine President Javier Milei visited the crash site on Sunday.
Strong winds also toppled trees and light poles in the capital Buenos Aries.
