The decision to dismiss Sebija Izetbegovic as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA) remains in force.
Rector of UNSA Rifat Skrijelj confirmed that the Board of Directors of UNSA did not accept, but did not reject, the decision on dismissal at the recently held session. This means that the dismissal decision remains in force. He indicated that he is not competent to comment on the decisions of the UNSA Board of Directors.
Izetbegovic, who is also the director of the UNSA Clinical Center, was fired on April 24th of this year. This happened after the UNSA Senate revoked her Master’s and Doctor of Science degrees. But, in June, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo postponed the annulment of the title of Doctor of Science as a security measure.
Canton Sarajevo (CS) Prosecutor’s Office recently decided not to investigate the authenticity of the documentation from Izetbegovic‘s postgraduate (master’s) studies at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Medicine.
Her legal team has announced that they will seek to have her title reinstated. However, Rector Skrijelj invited Izetbegovic to show her master’s degree, Klix.ba reports.
