“The Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative Office welcome today’s adoption of two outstanding legislation by the BiH Council of Ministers. The first one being the draft amendment to the law on Single Reference Number, which would implement the BiH Constitutional Court ruling from 2011 and make it possible to continue to issue Single Reference Numbers to newborns and naturalized citizens throughout the centralized system in the country.

We further welcome the adoption of the draft amendments to the Law on temporary and permanent residence, which updates the current legal framework and improve the registration of residence throughout the country. These two legislation are relevant for the requirements set out in the visa road map, which continue to be assessed by the European Commission in the framework of Post Visa Liberalization Monitoring Mechanism.

We urge the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina to proceed and adopt these legislation without any further delay”, announced by the EU delegation to BiH
