The bilateral security agreement between the United States of America and Ukraine does not include any commitments on the deployment of American forces in Ukraine, said White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
“They asked for our weapons and help as they fight to defend their territory, they didn’t ask for our forces to join the fight,” Sullivan said, clarifying that the agreement, which the US and Ukraine will sign tomorrow, does not include any commitment to deploy US troops for the defense of Ukraine.
According to him, the US and its allies are working to establish a special framework for the use of frozen Russian funds.
“What we’re working on is a framework that’s not generic, that’s quite specific in terms of what it entails,” Sullivan said.
Moscow has previously said that any attempt to confiscate Russian property is in fact theft and a violation of international law.
