The football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play the decisive match of the group stage of the World Cup against Qatar tonight in Seattle. With a victory, coach Sergej Barbarez’s team would secure at least third place and probably a place in the knockout phase, and in the fight for that feat, they will have the overwhelming support of the fans tonight.
Thousands of fans of the BiH national team, from other cities of the United States as well as European countries, have arrived in this city in the American state of Washington and are optimistically awaiting the match with Qatar. Some of them shared their expectations with the Fene reporter from the USA, and they all expect the “Dragons” to win.
The match is played at the Lumen Field stadium, which during the 2026 FIFA World Cup is called Seattle Stadium. This modern stadium was opened in 2002 and accommodates around 69,000 spectators, and is known around the world for one of the loudest football atmospheres thanks to the specific architecture that amplifies the sound of the fans.
Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) play their matches at this stadium, and during the 2026 World Cup it will be one of the key arenas on the American west coast.
The match is refereed by Jesús Valenzuela Sáez from Venezuela. He was born on November 24, 1983, and has been carrying the FIFA flag since 2013. He was named the best CONMEBOL referee in 2021 in the IFFHS selection.
