”The end of the world” and ” The beginning of the new age” at Ars Aevi

At Ars Aevi in Sarajevo, on the 21st December, the artists will mark ”the end of the world” according to the Mayan calendar, but also mark ”The beginning of a new age” according to the philosophy of the artists Michelangelo Pistoletto.
In the collaboration with the Pistoletto Foundation and one of the most prominent artists in the world Michelangelo Pistoletto, the first artist who gave his art works in 1994 for the future Museum of Contemporary Art in Sarajevo, Ars Aevi will mark the ”end of the world” according to the Mayan calendar.
At the Art Depo, Ars Aevi will host a meeting of 86 authors and signatories of the Ars Aevi Declaration that helped Ars Aevi to maintain its Art Depo Collection that is now open every day from 10:00 a.m. till 22:00 p.m.
The same authors and signatories of the Ars Aevi Declaration will meet to mark the ” Beginning of a new age” with their statement and messages, in form of a New Year’s card and give their contribution for the Pistoletto’s project. According to his philosophy that particular hour, meaning the 21:00 p.m. on the 21st December marks the beginning of a ”New age” which he calls the ” Third heaven” (Terzo Paradiso) in which his ethical message ” Love differences” ( Amare Le Differenze) will fulfill itself as a essential part of people’s lives.
According to the philosophy of Pistoletto, at midnight the world will be divided to the world of evil and the world of good. From that moment on, we will step into the epoch of kindness, where stupidity will transform into wisdom, and hate into love. This prominent artist has sent his invitation for this event to many elected Museums and Center of art around the world, in order to celebrate the beginning of the new age.
” We will celebrate the New epoch, but not in the way in which we celebrate the New Year with music and dancing, but in pleasant talks with the wise people that signed the Ars Aevi Declaration last year”- said Enver Hadžiomerspahić, the founder of the project Ars Aevi.
The meeting of authors will be held in the premises of Ars Aevi from the 21st till the 24th December.
