The Family in BiH is not giving up the Demolition of the Mosque

The Croatian Trlin family is not giving up on demolishing the mosque in Donje selo, at the entrance to Konjic, which was built in 2017 on 300-year-old land owned by that family. They are now seeking help even from the international community to succeed in their struggle.

One of the eight heirs to the land, Zvonimir Trlin, who lives in Zagreb, claims that the mosque was built illegally and that the land was taken from his family by fraud, as one of the heirs was manipulated and used to sell the land by forging the signatures of the other heirs, and he the entire process disputed from the beginning.

He says that he approached numerous institutions in our country and that SIPA accepted the report and launched an investigation into illegal activities and falsification of documents in the cadastre and land registry of Konjic Municipality.

“I wrote to the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, the Embassy of the USA, Great Britain and Qatar, whose country was a donor for the construction of the mosque, to inform them of the criminal activities surrounding the land on which the mosque was built. I also wrote to the supreme head of the Islamic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Husein Kavazović and asked for understanding and help for the problems I am dealing with, because I will not and cannot stop there. I cannot allow the property of my ancestors to be stolen. If necessary, I will go to the International Court of Human Rights rights in Strasbourg, to preserve what belongs to my family for generations,” Trlin told Klix.ba.

Let us remind you that the mosque was built in 2017 in Donje selo, at the entrance to Konjic, and according to Trlin’s family, they found out that the land was not theirs when construction machines appeared on the ground and started digging the ground. Then, according to him, they called the police, who went to the scene and found out that the plot in question is owned by the Islamic community, and started arguing for the return of the land, which, according to him, was stolen from his family.

However, the chief imam of the Islamic Community, Konjic Refik Delic, has a different story. Delić, who previously told Klix.ba portal that the mosque was built according to all rules and regulations and that it has a use permit.

He claims that the Trlin family tried to dispute it, but that the case went through all court instances.
