The fire that broke out again this morning around 7 o’clock on Fortica hill above Mostar has been extinguished and brought under control, it was confirmed for BHT1 from PVJ Mostar.

Four fire trucks and ten firefighters extinguished the fire on the ground. Along with them, the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in extinguishing the fire. PVJ Mostar told us that the situation was stabilized last night and that the firefighters were withdrawn from the field after the intervention, however, the fire flared up again this morning.

The fire broke out on Sunday at around 1 p.m., quickly spread towards Vrapčići and Podveležje, and additional difficulties in extinguishing it were created by inaccessible terrain and strong wind. All available firefighting forces are on the ground, and they were on duty during the night trying to bring the fire under control.

Although the fire was extinguished, the teams remained on duty to monitor the situation and prevent the fire from reactivating.
