The forest fire in the area of Pisvir near Jablanica is still active, and activities to extinguish it continued yesterday, the Federal Administration of Civil Protection (FUCZ) announced.

The fire covered an area of about 14 hectares, mostly pine forest, and the difficult situation in extinguishing it is the inaccessible terrain with steep cliffs.

Members of the Professional Fire Brigade of Jablanica, volunteer fire brigades and the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which operated on two occasions yesterday – from 10 am to 2 pm and from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, during which it made about 20 flights, are participating in the extinguishing.

According to information from the Jablanica Civil Protection Operations Center, the fire is still active, but for now it does not pose a threat to the local population or residential buildings in the settlement of Slatina, which is located below the fire site.
