13023254_1756121434624533_199752384_nOn Grdonje, right above Sarajevo settlement Sedrenik, will be built the first Forest Park of Friendship in BiH, which will cover an area of 6 hectares.

This park will be built in the municipality of Stari Grad, which provided all necessary urban development and construction permits, and the project is implemented by Forests of the Republic of Turkey, Cantonal public company “Sarajevo forests” and the company Natron-Hayat Ltd. from Maglaj. The idea of building this park has existed for several years now, when the Republic of Turkey expressed a desire to build this type of park for the first time outside the borders of their country.

Works on the construction of the park that will not only be the first of its kind in the country, but also the largest, visited the Mayor of the Municipality Stari Grad Ibrahim Hadzibajric and director of “Sarajevo forests” Nermin Demirovic. Demirovic presented the project to Hadzibajric once again, and he said that in the implementation will be included the Cantonal Ministry of Communal Economy.

“The Ministry of Economy will also participate in the project, and they will arrange grassy areas. We will also do the re-cultivation of land, which includes renovation of earth surfaces with low vegetation, surface leveling, planting grass and arranging paths. A total of 29 facilities will be set on the whole area: fountain, canopies, coolers, and children’s playgrounds,” explained Demirovic.

According to him, the project is worth about 400,000 BAM. According to the project, the Forest Park of Friendship will include the lookout with magnificent view of Sarajevo and the promenade, the amphitheater that will be able to accommodate 80 visitors and the space for exercise that will be equipped with modern exercise equipment. Cafe-restaurant with a terrace is planned as well. The park will also include a picnic area, children’s playground with modern furniture, fountains, and coolers (pavilions). Along the promenade will be built 10 meters long wooden bridge.
