”The French company ‘Vinci Airports‘ is conducting a feasibility study in order to assess the profitability of taking the Banja Luka airport under concession, ” confirmed Bojana Kondic Panic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to France.

In an interview, Kondic Panic clarified that the French company’s interest in the airport in Banja Luka is great because “Vinci Airports” is already present in the region.

“The concept they are developing is a network of airports in a region, and since they have already positioned themselves in Belgrade and have achieved impressive results there, they see further investment in the region as an opportunity to position low-cost companies as well,” said Kondic Panic, who is most responsible for the arrival of this company in Banja Luka.

She emphasized that Banja Luka suits them because it is located between larger cities such as Zagreb and Belgrade, so for this company, it is an ideal position for the development of their further presence in the region.

The company “Vinci Airports” normally works according to the principle of concessions, and whether possible cooperation with the Banja Luka airport will be realized in this way will be defined in further negotiations, i.e. in the contracting process, which will specify all the details. The most important thing for us is that it is a large and very serious company that is the world’s leading operator of private airports,” added KondicPanic.

As she stated, the business model represented by “VinciAirports” creates sustainable value for all interested parties, passengers, employees, airlines, traders, and local and regional authorities.

“It is in their interest that the airport that they manage as a company functions well, that there are as many airlines as possible, and that there are as many passengers as possible,” said Kondic Panic.

According to her, at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska (RS), Radovan Viskovic, which was held recently in Banja Luka, it was agreed that the company “VinciAirports” will send an official letter of intent to the Government, as the first step in establishing cooperation, Capital reports.
