The technical agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany, on the basis of which the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany grants financial assistance for infrastructural works in several locations and the procurement of uniforms for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the total value of 2 million and 970,000 thousand euros, was signed today, 18 August 2023 in the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Defense Minister Helez by BiH Assistant Minister of Defense for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović, and on behalf of the German side, the agreement was signed by the military attaché in BiH, Colonel Franz Josef Nolte.

The technical agreement for the support of infrastructure works, in the value of 1,470,000 euros, includes projects for the arrangement of infrastructure and facilities at six locations where members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina reside. The projects are intended for the construction of a guardhouse and the replacement of external lighting in the “Zaim Imamović” barracks in Pazarić, the replacement of external lighting in the “Božan Šimović” barracks in Čapljina, “Dubrave” in Živinice, “Rajlovac” in Sarajevo, installation of a video surveillance system with special infrastructure in the weapons warehouse “Grabež” in Bihać, and the renovation and remodeling of the facility for the accommodation of soldiers in the “Mato Lučić Maturica” barracks in Kiseljak.

Funds from the technical agreement to support the procurement of uniforms in the amount of 1,500,000 euros will be intended for equipping the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Assistant Minister Šajinović expressed his immense gratitude for this financial assistance, which contributes to improving the living and working conditions of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their overall modernization, and added that today’s donation, like all previous donations, is another indicator of the commitment of FR Germany in providing support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Colonel Nolte announced that several more agreements will be signed by the end of September this year, which will be intended to restore infrastructure at the locations of the Armed Forces of BiH, all with the aim of creating better conditions for the life and work of members of the Armed Forces of BiH.
