At yesterday’s session, the Government of Canton Sarajevo (CS) adopted three capital projects of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for the implementation of which funds in the amount of about 4.716.000 BAM were planned in the budget for this year, and which are also part of the capital investment program of the CS.

As explained by the minister in charge, Admir Katica, it is about previously initiated projects for the procurement of motor vehicles for the execution of duties and tasks under the jurisdiction of the uniformed and criminal police, the procurement of a modern system for recording illegal stopping and parking of motor vehicles at public transport stops, as well as the project to upgrade the so-called “Sparta system” for more efficient execution of duties and tasks under the jurisdiction of the Uniformed Police Sector.

For the procurement of new motor vehicles, according to the project documentation submitted by the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the CS, funds in the amount of 2.300.000 BAM are planned.

The estimated value of the second-mentioned project is 856.417 BAM, and it refers to the procurement of a modern system that will automatically record illegal parking and stopping of motor vehicles at public transport stops in the CS.

As pointed out by Minister Katica, this will preventively contribute to reducing the volume of violations of traffic regulations.

“The system should ensure monitoring of public transport stops, movement in the traffic lane reserved for public transport, entry into the traffic zone reserved for public transport vehicles, recognition of license plates, creation of a database with license plates of vehicles that stop or move in these zones, and integration into the system for processing violations that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the CS already uses,” minister Katica pointed out.
