agenda3At today’s session, the Government of FB&H adopted a text of the Reform Agenda for B&H for the period 2015-2018.

Citizens, nor even members of the legislature in B&H, were not familiar with the text of the reform agenda until now.

“The reform agenda is closely linked to the objectives of the new EU economic management on Western Balkans and it is in accordance with the program of economic reforms, as a fundamental element which should encourage comprehensive structural reforms to maintain macroeconomic stability and facilitate the growth and competitiveness,” says the text.

Moreover, as stated in the text, the implementation of the Reform Agenda will start without any delay.

“A wide set of medium term priorities, as indicated below in the text, will be revised in the initial specific measures and ventures, which will be prepared and implemented in the upcoming months in 2015 and early 2016, with every institution individually. That is, these initial measures and undertakings will be elaborated in consultations with the international financial institutions and the EU and will lead to further more precise measures that will move the reform agenda from its initial stages in the medium term. ”

“State of public finances at all levels of government in B&H is such that it is necessary to implement the fiscal consolidation which will slowly lead to the reduction of the budget deficit in the medium term and lead to a reduction in levels of public debt. Due to that, B&H authorities have decided to go for a strong three-year program of fiscal consolidation. In terms of this aim, and in order to avoid unfavorable external financing conditions, B&H authorities expect the conclusion of financial arrangements with the IMF, World Bank and the European Commission, which will provide financial support during the process of the implementation of fiscal consolidation measures “, states the text.
