The Government of Japan granted the renovation of a Primary School in Zenica

Mr. AIKI Toshihiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the presence of Mr. Nezir Pivic, Prime Minister of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mr. Mirza Musija, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and Ms. Mirsada Coloman, Director of Aleksa Santic Primary School, attended the hand-over ceremony for the primary school renovation project in Zenica.

 Through the program ” Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)” , the Government of Japan granted 92,529 Euros (approx. 180,970 KM) to a primary school in Zenica. The project is expected to improve the educational environment by repairing the deteriorated roofs of the school building and gymnasium, and approximately 540 students and teachers, will be able to have an environment unaffected by the weather throughout the year.

 Mr. Mirza Musija, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton, expressed his gratitude for the support by the Government of Japan. 

Ms. Mirsada Coloman, Director of Aleksa Santic Primary School, emphasized that the project would significantly improve the learning environment at the school by providing students and teachers with safer and more comfortable facilities throughout the year. Ambassador AIKI expressed his satisfaction that the project has been successfully completed and expressed his hopes that this project will be of great assistance to all the current and future students and teachers of Aleksa Santic Primary School in Zenica.
