received_1730341023869241The Trial Chamber three scheduled verdict in the case against Vojislav Seselj for the 31st of March this year.
Seselj is charged for war crimes and crimes against humanity, which he allegedly committed between August 1991 and September 1993 against non-Serb population from Croatia, BiH and the province of Vojvodina in Serbia.

The indictment states that Seselj, among other things, participated in the recruitment, formation, financing, supply, support and leadership Serbian volunteer units that were created and supported to assist in the joint criminal through committing the crimes.
The trial started on the 27th of November 2006 and shortly after that, the process was temporarily interrupted due to Seselj’s health condition. The trial started again on the 7th of November 2007 and the Prosecution completed its case on the 13th of January, 2010.

The Chamber issued an oral decision on the 4th of May 2011 on the request submitted in accordance with Rule 98bis of the Tribunal’s Rules of Procedure and Evidence, which rejected Seselj’s request for acquitting sentence.

Judge Antonetti offered his dissenting opinion. The defense did not present evidence and the parties presented their closing arguments from the 5th to the 20th of March 2012. The Trial Chamber ordered release for Seselj on the 6th of November 2014 by a majority vote due to his health. Vojislav Seselj was transferred to Serbia on the 12th of November 2014.
