The High Court in Belgrade extended Detention to Vranj

The High Court in Belgrade extended the detention of Edin Vranj for another month, his lawyer Jesenka Residovic confirmed.

This morning, the prosecution submitted a request for the extension of detention, and the defense attorney of Edin Vranj from Serbia, Boris Zorko, was not informed, so he did not have the opportunity to make a statement.

“The defense attorney was not informed about that proposal and did not have the opportunity to comment on it. We believe that this is a restriction on freedom and that the defense attorney should have had the opportunity to comment. In any case, the defense attorney will file an appeal,” Residovic said.

It should be reminded that Edin Vranj was arrested on September 12 at the Uvac border crossing while trying to enter Serbia, due to alleged war crimes committed during the war in BiH. His detention was extended due to the existence of circumstances which indicate that there is a danger that he could escape if he were released.
