The son of US President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., addressed a panel discussion at the Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, and during his speech he focused primarily on cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence.
At the beginning of his speech, he emphasized that there is a strong focus on artificial intelligence, and that cryptocurrencies will be the future of finance.
“This is something that we, as the Trump Organization, got involved in very early on because, as you have seen in this part of the world and other parts of the world, democracy is not always democracy. Democracy has been and continues to be instrumentalized around the world, which has created a problem for us. As for crypto, we got into crypto not because we were at the forefront of technological innovation, but because we had no choice,” he said.
He stated that his family has been involved in real estate for decades, and that they only recently entered the technology sector.
“We woke up one morning and 300 bank accounts were suddenly closed. Some of the largest banking institutions in the world suddenly said: congratulations, you no longer have an account with us. These were not political accounts. These were operating accounts for a restaurant in a hotel that we had, for paying a waiter who is not politically engaged and has nothing to do with it. We got into these technologies because we had no choice. Fortunately for us, we have a large platform and a stable balance sheet, and unlike many people who have faced the same form of government instrumentalization against them, we were in a position to fight back, no matter how hard it was,” Trump Jr. added.
The eldest son of the US president also dedicated part of his address to artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on energy.
“It’s a race that Western civilization simply has to win. There’s a point where, if you go too far in computing power, there’s no turning back. The winner of that race will decide a lot of things. Even in America, while there may be a certain advantage, some of the areas where we’re clearly lagging behind are in energy. I think that’s perhaps an area where, as we discussed earlier, there are underutilized hydropower resources. Energy is going to be what drives all of this. You can’t win the AI race without energy. Even though AI is ‘cool’ and energy is seen as something old-fashioned and not part of the ‘green new scam,’ energy is going to be everything,” he said.
On this topic, he also said that the issue of AI and cryptocurrencies will be “a fundamental fight for Western civilization and its values.”
He went on to comment on the Hungarian elections, looking at them from his own perspective.
“Viktor Orbán was a real fighter for Western values and those beliefs, and I think that’s fundamentally important, not just for Hungary, but if you look at Europe as a whole, and I’m a European. My mother was born in what was then Czechoslovakia. It’s now the Czech Republic. My political orientation probably started long before 2016. I’ve always been conservative, obviously, but I probably didn’t know why, and it was perhaps an unintended, or perhaps an intended, effect of my mother sending me every summer to what was then Czechoslovakia from the age of five,” he said.
Trump Jr. then criticized communism, the political system of government in the former Czechoslovakia.
“I went there, met the people, spoke the language fluently, and it really became a part of me, but I also had the opportunity to experience real communism and what was going on, and when you see it and experience it, and wait in bread lines, because I was a child. My grandfather, who took me there every summer, did not want to stand in bread lines. He sent me to do it. I always found it interesting and ironic that everyone who preaches the great virtues of socialism and They never lived under that system, you know, in theory, but never in practice. No one who came to America in the 70s or 80s preaches the great virtues of communism. You know what? I’d like to bring it here we should bring it back,” said Trump Jr.
He called the countries of Eastern Europe “the last hope for Europe,” criticizing Western countries through the prism of excessive migration. In this context, he called France and Great Britain “Muslim countries.”
“People who are willing to stand up and fight in Eastern Europe for those values, to fight to preserve the traditions that they value and that are very aligned with America, those people need support. Those people need help. God knows, between the frauds of USAID and the Soros Foundation and the billions of dollars that are flowing into those countries against those individuals, and you saw the same thing in your neighborhood in Serbia. I’m sure the same thing happened here, and obviously in Hungary. So I think it’s fundamentally important to make sure that those who share your values win those elections. Again, it’s important not only from a political standpoint, but for our children, who we’re ultimately doing all this for, and we want to leave them a better world, but it’s inextricably linked to business, because the policies of, you know, conservative governments with Western values enable growth,” he said.
He eventually returned to the issue of the Hungarian elections, where he endorsed Prime Minister Viktor Orban, calling his political opponents “communists,” even though the main opposition party is led by someone who was once a close associate of Orban, and who has views that can be described as moderate-right. “I think everybody who’s watching, everybody who’s involved, I know there’s a large population here that may also live in Hungary, they need to do whatever it takes to get out there and make sure that the communists don’t take over Hungary, because if Hungary falls, the vast majority of Eastern Europe will too, because I think he’s one of the real fighters in the region, more than most, and I think those people need support,” Donald Trump Jr. said, Klix.ba writes.
