The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the FB&H is planning to literally turn FB&H into a huge construction site within the next 4 years, with the largest amount of funds intended for continuation of the construction of several sections of the highway, as well as the construction and modernization of highways and regional roads, according to Vecernji List B&H.
About 360 million BAM is planned for investment in the construction or completion of already started main roads and highways, reconstruction of the slow lane, tunnels, bridges, black spots, bypass in the crowded urban areas and the rehabilitation of damages after floods, in the following 4 years.
Thus, the maximum amount of money will be directed for the construction of section Pocitelj – Zvirovici, then section Mostar – Pocitelj, Zenica bypass, and sections of the highway Svilaj – Odzak ( in the length of 10.7 kilometers). Besides these projects, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of FB&H is planning to work on the design of project of the highway between Tuzla and Orasje, as well as activities regarding project documents and other preparations for the highway Zepce – Tuzla – Brcko – Orasje and the Adriatic-Ionian highway through B&H.
One of the most important preparatory projects is linked to the project of high-speed road on the section Mostar – Siroki Brijeg – Grude – the border with Croatia.
Most of the money from the main roads will go next year on completing of the road Neum – Stolac, which will connect the only city in Herzegovina at sea with the interior.
Moreover, the southern bypass of Mostar will be constructed, and the reconstruction and construction of the main road between Tuzla and Sarajevo will take place as well, the construction of a new main road from Bihac to Bosanska Krupa will be started, as well as the modernization of the section Jajce – Lasva and Izacic – Bihac. Road Sarajevo – Gorazde will be done in the 2-year period, road Sanski Most – Kljuc will be modernized and road Grude – Ljubuski – Capljina will be constructed.
