The delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted today two amendments to the Law on the Basics of Traffic Safety on Roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was proposed by the House of Representatives of the State Parliament.
One of the amendments stipulates that for a misdemeanor when an inscription on one of the two letters (Latin or Cyrillic) is painted over or otherwise covered, the offender will be fined in the amount of 400 to 1,000 BAM.
The second amendment to that legal solution foresees the introduction of a separate, increased fine for parking in a place for disabled people. It is foreseen that the fine amounts to 200 BAM.
Both amendments were adopted in a different text compared to the one adopted by the House of Representatives, which is why a joint commission was formed that will harmonize the identical text of the amendments to the Law.
Today, the delegates did not support the agreed reports on achieving an identical text with amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes and amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax (VAT), which were submitted to the House of Peoples by the Joint Committees of both Houses for adoption, which means that none of the laws, even in the agreed text, was supported by the House.
When it comes to changes to the Excise Law, which overlooked the abolition of excise taxes on all types of fuel, and the retail price of diesel fuel would be lower by 35 pfennigs, the same report of the Joint Commission of both houses was previously held by the House of Representatives, but without the support of the House of Peoples with an identical text the law cannot take effect.
