The Houthis announced: We have prepared a Surprise in the Red Sea

Yemen’s Houthis will introduce military “surprises” in their operations in the Red Sea, the group’s leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said in a televised speech on Thursday.

“Our military operations will continue and progress and we have surprises that our enemies will not expect at all,” al-Houthi said.

The Houthis have repeatedly launched drones and missiles against international commercial shipping since mid-November, saying they were acting in solidarity with the Palestinians against Israeli military actions in Gaza.

Their attacks in the Red Sea have disrupted global shipping and forced companies to divert to longer and more expensive voyages around South Africa and fueled fears that the war between Israel and Hamas could spread and destabilize the wider Middle East.

The United States and Great Britain began targeting Houthi targets in Yemen last month in retaliation for attacks on ships in the Red Sea, Klix.ba reports.
