The Israeli military said it had killed Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, the commander of Hezbollah’s rocket forces, in an airstrike in Beirut.

Qabisi was hit along with some other important commanders of Hezbollah’s rocket forces, the statement said.

The Israeli military says Qabisi joined Hezbollah in the 1980s and has since held several significant military roles in the organization, and claims he was responsible for planning and executing numerous attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers.

“Over the years and during the war, he was responsible for launching missiles at Israeli civilians. Qabisi was a significant source of missile knowledge and had close ties to senior military leaders in Hezbollah,” the statement added.

The military said in a separate statement that it was currently conducting “large-scale strikes” against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, Klix.ba writes.
