The Mayor of the Brčko District of BiH, Siniša Milić, made a decision to declare July 28, 2026 as the Day of Mourning in the Brčko District of BiH, on the occasion of the tragic death of five mountaineers from Bosnia and Herzegovina on Mount Elbrus in the Russian Federation.

On this occasion, Mayor Milić sent his sincere condolences to the families of the injured mountaineers, expressing his sympathy for their irreparable loss.

The decision stipulates that the Day of Mourning will be marked by displaying the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast on all Government buildings and institutions of the Brčko District of BiH.

On July 28, all media outlets in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to adapt their program contents to mark the Day of Mourning.

The decision enters into force on the day of its adoption, and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH.
