‘The Merry Widow’ in Sarajevo National Theatre

veselaOperetta ”The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehar will play in Sarajevo National Theatre on 7 May at 7.30 p.m.

The librettists, Viktor Léon and Leo Stein, based the story – concerning a rich widow, and her countrymen’s attempt to keep her money in the principality by finding her the right husband – on an 1861 comedy play, L’attaché d’ambassade (The Embassy Attaché) by Henri Meilhac.

The operetta is directed by Krunoslav Cigoj from Croatia, while the conductor is Dario Vučić.

Cast:  Jasmin Bašić, Meliha Hajrulahović, Katarina Kikić, Davor Radić, Dragutin Matić, Aida Čorbadžić, Adema Pljevljak-Krehić, Amir Saračević, Ileš Bečei, Denis Isaković, Leonardo Šarić, Ivan Šarić, Dragan Pavlović, Edin Daši, Dejan Kajević and Emsad Bečić.
