The Netherlands will introduce land border controls from December 9, an unnamed spokesperson for Dutch Foreign Minister Marjolein Faber said, confirming an earlier report by Dutch news agency ANP.
The border controls will last for six months and will be part of a broader crackdown on migration proposed by the right-wing coalition led by Geert Wilders’ nationalist PVV party.
Dutch authorities introduced the controls after neighboring Germany decided on similar measures
