Julian Riley has been appointed the new Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Namely, he will replace Ambassador Matthew Field, who has been performing this duty since 2018. The new ambassador will take office in July this year, and Ambassador Field will take over the new diplomatic post during the summer.
Riley is an experienced diplomat with over 20 years of service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development.
Some of his top positions include those of the Special Envoy for the Red Sea, the Head of the Department for East Africa, the Deputy Head of the Department for the Western Balkans and Enlargement, the Acting Deputy Director of the Department for Russia, South Caucasus and Central Asia at the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
