The new Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Nermin Niksic, was appointed to this position yesterday at an extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the FBiH, after which he announced that his first visit would be to this year’s Mostar Economy Fair.
“I am satisfied with the fact that the composition of the new Government consists mainly of people who are coming here for the first time. I think it is good that there will be no one who is already in a rut when it comes to this previous period. That is why we will need time to come to an agreement and put things on a good foundation. We will not deal with the previous government because everyone will have to analyze what they have found in their department and start implementing the Government’s Program,” Niksic points out.
According to him, the Work Program of the newly appointed Government of the FBiH is ambitious and contains 49 priority measures for ministries.
Moreover, he points out that he can only assume that some people are bothered by the fact that the law on combating corruption and organized crime will be among the high priorities of the new Federal Government.
“I will insist that we will not be a government that will look back and talk about what happened in the previous period, but that we do what we promised. We will extend a hand to everyone and offer them to join quality projects and legal solutions,” emphasized Niksic.
Speaking about the Decision of the High Representative on the basis of which the process of appointing the FBiH Government was unblocked, he said that due to a similar decision, HDZ BiH was eliminated from the government that was in office from 2010 to 2014.
“People forgot that the government in 2010 and 2014 was SDP and SDA. They forgot that HDZ was then eliminated by the decision of the High Representative. We are trying to decide to work on building the country and institutions and extend hands of trust to each other. You heard from the exposition that we are definitely the first on the list that we do not want to be on, as a country that has lost the largest number of its inhabitants. If this is not an alarm that everyone in both entities and Brcko District should get serious about building, restoring mutual trust, then I don’t know what is,” Niksic stated after the extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.
