The Pope once again called for Peace: “Brothers, that’s enough!”

Pope Francis reiterated his call to end the hostilities between Hamas and Israel and called for more humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza.

“It’s enough, brothers, it’s enough!” he said yesterday and called for all the wounded to be taken care of immediately.

Addressing a crowd in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, the Pope said the hostages held by Hamas must be freed, and warned that weapons will never bring peace.

“I am close to all those who are suffering, both Palestinians and Israelis,” he said.

The 86-year-old Catholic Church leader called for the creation of humanitarian corridors and said a two-state solution was needed to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Small amounts of aid have entered Gaza since Israel declared war on Hamas more than a month ago after the militants carried out an attack in southern Israel.

Israeli officials claim that around 1,200 people were killed in the attack and more than 200 were taken hostage.

Since then, the Palestinian Authority has said that 11,078 people have been killed in airstrikes and artillery attacks – about 40% of them being children.
