The Public Investment Program of BiH Institutions was adopted

Yesterday, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) adopted the Program of Public Investments of the Institutions of BiH for the period from 2023 to 2025 at the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, with appropriate conclusions, as support in planning and making better investment decisions.

The announcement from the Council of Ministers states that this program enables better use of budget funds and access to foreign sources of financing, and is the basis for making capital expenditures of BiH institutions.

For the period 2023 to 2025, 279 projects are planned, with a total value of two billion and 619.66 million BAM, of which one billion and 315.23 million BAM refers to 133 projects in implementation, 64.76 million BAM to 23 approved projects, and one billion and 239.67 million BAM for 123 candidate projects.

It is added that the value of projects that directly contribute to socioeconomic development and are included in the Public Investment Program amounts to one billion and 31.21 million BAM, while the value of other projects is one billion and 588.44 million BAM.

Of the total value of all projects, two billion and 69.42 million BAM refers to investments in capital projects and 550.24 million BAM to investments in institutional projects.

At yesterday‘s session, the Council of Ministers of BiH, on the proposal of the Agency for Statistics of BiH, adopted the Decision on the formation of an Interdepartmental Working Group for the preparation of the Action Plan for the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of the results of the agricultural census in BiH in 2023 – 2026.

“In this way, after years of stagnation, activities were initiated in the direction of fulfilling the priorities from the European Partnership Agreement, which emphasizes that BiH must strengthen the collection and processing of agricultural statistical data in accordance with the European Union (EU)standards and methodologies,” the announcement states.

The Agency for Statistics of BiH is responsible for submitting the agreed Action Plan for the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of the results of the census of agriculture in BiHin 2023-2026 to the Council of Ministers of BiH for adoption, Biznis Info reports.
