The robotics team of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved exceptional success at the FGC2023 International Robotics Olympiad in Singapore, where they won the “Outstanding Mentor” – Armin Đidelija and the “Social Media Award” awards.

The robotics team of BiH consisted of Ana Tomić from Fra Grga Martić High School in Mostar, Ilajda Šuta, Kenan Nuhić and Amar Pehilj from the Second High School in Mostar, and Amina Đuderija from the Second High School in Sarajevo, the Center for Education, Robotics, Innovation and Technology announced (CERITE).

“This team was mentored by Anes Hadžiomerović and Armin Đidelija, and we must also not forget the contribution of Nika Cvitanović from the Grga Martić Gymnasium in Mostar, as well as mentor Lejla Nuhić.

This year, the FIRST Global Challenge International Robotics Olympiad was held in Singapore from 7 until October 10, and brought together representatives from 191 countries. We faced extremely strong competition, including countries such as the United States of America, Japan, China and Kazakhstan, which for years have invested significantly in supporting young people to encourage them to choose STEM field as their future profession and contribute to the development of their countries and societies. We were extremely proud to see the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the pedestal,” said Hadžiomerović.

This is the sixth year in a row that young people have successfully represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at this competition.

“While we are still gathering impressions, we want to sincerely thank everyone who supported our mission and journey to Singapore, because without them this would not have been possible. We proudly point out that we have achieved this success in an ever-greater competition. Finally, congratulations go to the team from Kazakhstan on victory, as well as the teams from neighboring countries on their results. It was an extreme pleasure and honor to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at such a large and prestigious competition,” CERIT points out, Fena reports.
